Strange, when I try to modify my profile, it seems that the forum engine replies "invalid username/password". Very strange.
Thank you very much for your kind attention.
Regards,
Griffin.

griffin, sorry if you already done this......
try putting in your name as usual
and leave a blank where the password usually goes (as sometimes it automatically comes up as asterisks where it was programmed in already )
if all else fails send for the password under 'lost your password' ?
and see what happens after filling in your username as requested
or just change to a new one if you wish
regards
marie

Thanks, Marie.
As you can see, I have done it, nevermind. Just logout and re-login and well. Here I am.

Not I. I'm having trouble. Can you explain how you managed to change your profile?

I am also having this same problem, I do not seem to be able to update my profile. I have logged out and then back in several times including overnight, I have tried both netscape and MSIE browsers. I get same response each time I try.
Am I missing something I need to do.

It must be a cookie problem as this forum software is very cookie dependent. If you need to do changes and are unable to, mail me to forumadmin@photography-on-the.net and I'll update the info (for security reasons you need to state your username and password, too).

On the latest and greatest IE I have found that you have to go into 'tools' 'internet options' 'security' than click the trusted sites icon and select the site you are verifying as a trusted site. This usually clears up any cookie issues (ie. being booted out of a forum for no apparent reason).
Personally I don't understand why this is this way because I run a yabbse php/mysql bulletin board for a group and have no problems, yet I'm a member on a different board that uses the exact same version yabbse and I would login and then I would get booted out. I did the above procedure (added them to my trusted sites list) and the problem went away. Makes no sense, but if my theory is correct computers are just a fad and won't last much longer anyway :)

I got a similar Cannot update profile shown on-screen in highlighted text but tweaking IE 5.2 (for Mac) -[its the best we're going to get from Microsoft, especially as Apple has released the far superior & awesome Safari Browser], however after the tweaks- thanks to rblisset who gave such invaluable feedback - I can now mod my profile- how about adding pictures to our profiles? or is it asking too much?
Canon G1, A20, & Casio QV4000 (Canon G2 in disguise?),
Plus too many other 110 format film cameras to mention!

I just figured out what has been my problem for the last 4-6 months. Why I did not figure it out sooner, I will never know.
I have discovered that the user name to get onto the site is case insensitive, but when trying to update the profile, it must be the correct case when you logged in.
I had figured if I could log in, I must have typed it correctly. Bad assumption.
At least I finally figured out how to change my profile.
Oh no!! it is worse then I thought, I just looked up an old post and it has been over 8 months since I tried last. All that time and I finally figure it out.
