I watched some auctions and found some 70-200 2.8F lenses but what I saw is that some are little gray and some are pure white but both are the same lense.

My questions are:
With that color can I see wich one is newer or older ?
Wich is better to purchase ?
What's a good price for buying in good conditions a used lense like this?.

Thanks for any reply beforehand from the experts on this lense subject.

There are two 70-200 f/2.8 L lenses: the older version without IS and the newer version with IS.

Are you sure that what you see in the photos is really different? Maybe people are making photos of their lens with different white balance and exposure settings and that could make the colour of the lenses look different in the photos.

Those are both the same lens, the older 70-200 f/2.8 L without IS (image stabilizer).

Ok Thanks jasper

Any idea of a decent price to pay for this kind of used lenses?

Usually go between $850 and $1,000 if in good shape. Cost is $1,100 new at B&H right now. Good luck.

First one looks like a flash photo, the other is illuminated by lights. Most likely different colour temparature.

I'd guess the actual lens to look more like the second one (don't have, it, unfortuntately)

Best regards,
Andy
