Sigma 24-60 EX

Anybody used this lens?
I'm looking for a lens for general family shots.
It seems like a nice compromise with regard to quality, weight, filter size and price in comparison to the 24-70L and Sigma 24-70 EX. I already use 77mm filters.
I'm shooting with a 10D.

Have you considered the Tamron 28-75? It has a great reputation, but it's not quite as wide as the 24. I've not even heard of that Sigma, sorry.

Belmondo and Snibbetsj have this model but i haven't heard much else about it
