I've been gradually working on my website for the past month or two. I am at a point where I would like some feedback from other photographers. What do you think? What would you like to see added? What would you like to see improved?

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think the site overall is pretty nice, but a couple of things I noticed at first glance:

- The comments link on your blog page could be more obvious. I had to search for a while to find it because it blends right into your keywords.
- There should be a differentiation between tags and categories - right now, they are pretty much the same, which just makes things look cluttered and clogged. Keep the tags, and assign your images to one, or maybe two categories max. For example, Flowers could be a category, and then you have all the various tags on the image that you have now.
- The CSS/HTML do not validate against W3C standards. The less validation errors, the more likely you are to have your site shown properly and consistently across all browsers.
- Your site has no metadata for description or keywords. When your site starts showing up in Google, google will not know what description to assign to your site on the search results page.
- Your alt data for your images is not meaningful. For example, for your Calla Lily image, your current alt text is 0904_callalilypurplewhite_041-edit-edit. Good alt text would be Calla Lily, or Purple White Calla Lily. Since search engines can't see pictures, they partly rely on alt text to understand what the image is. Also, alt text is used to relay information about images to the blind.

Thanks for the tips. i'll talk with my web gurus (son-in-law and daughter) and see what we can come up with.

You have some great shots of Harlequin Ducks.

Your website looks pretty good, better than my efforts.

Now I want to buy a Canon 300mm F2.8. damn.

Appreciate the feedback Stu. The 300 2.8 is one heck of a lens!

I always get annoyed when the NEXT button keeps moving around.

I agree but other than having all images the same size and orientation, I don't know a way around it.
