Hey there,
I'm about to purchase a bagpack for travelling purposes whereby I have to move around with my stuff for long hours and a shoulder bag just won't cut it. I'm going over to China for a week to do some shooting and I'm hoping to fit the following gear...

Gripped 450D + 18-55
430EXII
Sigma 50 1.4
10-22
70-200 F4
15.4" laptop
tripod? (manfrotto 190xprob+486rc2)

I'm sure I will be able to fit everything inside the bag and still have some space for miscellaneous items. I definitely need some extra space but not a lot. I've been eyeing on the NG bag as it looks really good in terms of design and usage, although I have no idea to look at the Explorer or the Walkabout. Can't really tell the differences between both bags. I realise it's not really popular around here. Another alternative that I think looks close to what I need would be the Lowepro Fastpack 250. It's really easy to get my equipment out. Even after seeing both bags(but not both at once to compare), I still can't make the decision. It's gonna be a bag that I'm gonna use for long and I don't think I be getting anymore equipments(maybe strobist).

I feel pretty clueless , any help? Please?

I am just back from Shanghai, and carried a Billingham 445 shoulder bag about with me, with a 40d, grip, 18-200 and 50mm 1.8 and flash gun.By the end of the day my shoulder were getting mighty sore. Don't recommend changing lenses to often in Shanghai because of the dust.where about are you going.

I'm pretty much only willing to spend as much as the NG, and I'm going to Yunnan(Shangrila). I've travelled to Japan's Mt.Aso with a shoulder bag and I really had a bad ache the next day, which is why I want a bagpack to balance off that weight. It's not really nice travelling under cold temperature and feeling worn out at the same time.

Billingham is way out of my reach sadly.

Don't know how good the fastpack 250 is for travel,( this will be my next purchase :) perhaps someone who owns this can give some feedback. considerably cheaper than the NG.

As much if the NG is actually a better bag than the Fastpack, I don't really mind spending more. Just that I couldn't find out much about them. Nobody here owns NG? I'm not sure should I take the risk, or not I shall be convinced to get the Fastpack. :)

I have a Fastpack 250 and I like it a lot. Took it for my Hawaii with a Macbook, Canon 40D, 24-105, 17-40, and a Tamron 18-250. Also threw in a couple of point and shoots for quick stuff if needed. Plenty of room and comfortable.

I guess I may purchase the Fastpack in the end...can't find out much on the NG bag even though it looks good and tempting.
