Here are a few shots from a recent track day at Shannonville MP. I'm using the 18-55 IS, I need to upgrade soon! 55-250 IS?
C/C from the pros would be awesome.

Looks like fun. Were you dizzy afterwards?

^ haha. Yea, it was fun.
I'm not sure if you mean dizzy from being a passenger, or from 180* panning repeatedly, lol.

...from 180* panning repeatedly, lol.
I don't think I'd even want to try it more than a few times!

Nice pictures. Was it mostly 240s at the event?

Yeah, most of them were running 240s since it was an event planned by Drift-Ops on son240sx.org (Southern Ontario 240sx) but there were a couple Skylines there, an S12 200sx, a couple 86s, etc.
Few more shots:

consider the 70-200 F4 instead of the 55-250? yes i know that means a little lapse in focal length, but there's nothing shabby about the 70-200, don't know the price of the 55-250 though, may be cheaper then a 70-200

Yeah, I've borrowed the 70-200 f4L and love it, but its about $700 where as the 55-250 IS is around $320.

Yes but worth it! I played with a friends 55-250 at the same time i had my 70-200F4 and the 70-200 was SO MUCH FASTER. And for motorsports its a big deal for me.
BTW: Nice shots:)

Overall I think your photos are great. I especially like the last shot in your second picture post of the grey 240, what a perspective! The shutter speeds you were using evoke a nice sense of motion with the backgroud and wheel blur.

Very nice panning. I liked #2 and #3.

Thanks, this was probably the first time I shot successful pans. I was allowed to get closer to the action, dead center in the apex of the turn. It was as if I was locked onto a rotating pole the whole time. haha.

Looks like a fun event. Great photos. I have a 70-200f4L and I love it. I have had it for about 4weeks now. I used it for some drag racing photos in low light and the lens kept up just fine. Money is always a factor but you might be able to find a good deal on either used lens here.

It was fun as hell. Thanks again for the comments!
Right now, it's either get some camera gear, or prep my car for some winter track time fun...
