Hi all, I’m having trouble resizing my 4 to 5 MB JPGs down to web size (100kb-1200x800) and still maintaining a clear looking photo. They seem to loose definition badly. I’ve tried PS elements 2 (can’t afford PSCS L), windows resize tools, and another free download program—all give similar results. They look great at full size. Wondering what/how some of you do this.

it'll be hard to get decent quality at 1200x800 under 100k. 600x400 should be okay for 100k. just resize, do a small amount of usm then save as jpg at quality somewhere between 8-10. -alex

After you resize use USM at A- 500 R- 0.2 to sharpen then save as jpeg quality 8. Any resized image will need to be sharpened..

1200*800's too big for the web, to get the quality ok at that size you'll need larger file sizes.
