Ok, I've been around this forum (even have my new forum "strap") for a few months and am just seeing this Exhibit Engine thing. Looks like a 'photo hosting' site created just for this forum?!?!

Not looking for anything in depth here, just a quick intro!

Thanks guys!

EE is Exhibit Engine. It is a PHP web app that creates galleries for your Photos on your own or a hosted web server. It was created by Pekka the all powerful leader of this forum.

If you would like to know more or see an example of them you can go to http://photography-on-the.net/gallery/list.php?exhibition=1 there is also more links from the home page to other galleries.

This is not for the faint of heart but if you want a professional looking gallery it is great. It is also easy on daily administration once you get it up and working.

Lots of great help can be had in this forum if you decide you want to give it a go.

P.S. I forgot to include a link to my gallery. It is mainly for sharing family photos, but I recently added a new category for nonfamily photos, which I hope to start showcasing my nontalent. www.btoups.com/gallery (http://www.btoups.com/gallery)

Ah, I see now!
I thought they were hosting the pictures, but I understand now.
And I have to admit........I like it! It's a very nice clean template!
Eventually I'm going to host my own pics when I change hosts, but I'm going to design a Flash based gallery.

I notice on yours that there's a few advertisements, are you going through Geocities or something?

No I actually run my own Linux server from home using my cable internet. The ads are from google adsense. I added them to help pay for some of the expenses associated with the site. I just asked my family members to use them every once in a while.

Doesnt seem to be workin to well.

Well if it makes you feel better, I went back to your site and hit some of the 'ads' for ya! And actually they were all good ads too! But you should use a <blank> in there so that it opens in a new tab/window for people. That way they can leave it open while perusing through your site at the same time. I'm not sure, but they might check for 'how long' the visitor stays at the site and not just if they 'clicked on it'. But I'm just guessing there, not sure how it all works.

Thanks again for your EE explanation!
