......15,000? in one day? what were you shooting? multiple weddings or an all day sporting event?

Over the past 2 months or so I've shot around 7,000 frames.

Probably around 20,000 on the 1d3, 2000 on the 5d (only a few weeks old) and god knows how many on the 40d.

Seems like I haven't done quite that many, as I thought I had done:lol:

17,000 in the last 6 months. The joys of waking up at 6 am and taking your camera everywhere with you and being on summer break from work.

Since my first SLR (2 years ago), I have probably taken around 100k pictures (with all of my cameras)...

About 6000 with my XTi and 500 with my 5D2.

I shot just under 8k with my 40D between June last year and May this year. 1/2 of them were deleted because of oof/boring/almost duplicates/really poor exposure.

Since June this year I have shot roughtly the same amount with my 5D and have deleted about the same amount of images, 1/2.

I do 90% of my shooting in the summer but hope to change that, somewhat, this winter.

So, since June last year, about 15k and have thrown out about 1/2 of them.

Errr...it's kind of embarrassing to say. All I can say is it’s been a year and a half since I’ve been able to get up early in the morning and just take my gear with me somewhere. With my work and family responsibilities becoming a little easier it’s allowed me to take around 1500 shots from spring till now which will be just shy of 5000. I purchased the old feller about 3 years ago. It doesn’t have the mileage it should.

I don't keep count but have over 250Gb worth on various HDDs. And a 4 drawer file cabinet literally full of hanging files of 25mm negs and slides - 26 to a sheet. It covers over 45 years so they really mount up.

I could not say for sure but it is not uncommon for me to get 1000 to 1500 frames in a day two to three times a week.

My personal best is for a 3 day shoot where I got 9365 total keeper frames at the World Mini's in Las Vegas. Racing from Sun up to 10 PM every day. virtually no breaks for anything.

I would guestimate over 700K between my oldest rebel (which I wore out), two 20D's ( both are now on the third shutter box), and my 1D3 in the last 8 years.

This doesn't take into account my 720 IS pocket rig that is allways around for emergencies......

It's bad when you go through TB's like it's candy, I know the feeling.

Surely you will know by the amount it says on the camera

6029 on my 350D which will be 3 years old in a couple of weeks time. Much prefer to use my T90 instead.;)

15K is a lot of one day. I don't have enough memory cards. Yesterday I shot 1500 and it was 32Gb of data.

On my 5dmkII which is 3 weeks old I have shot 4700. On my previous camera, 50D I took 28K shots over 10 months.

On my Rebel XT which I used for about 3 1/2 years I shot something like 25K. My newer 40D which I've had 10 months I think I just rolled over the 9k mark. Though over 3k was one day at an Airshow.

only around 2,000 on a 450D in 3 months.

Not much time to go out and shoot when you're in school....

How can you tell how many photos you have taken with your camera? I switch CF cards all the time...is there something in camera that gives me that ifo - I have the 50D

Just 20,000 since February 2007 with my DSLRs. About 7000/year.

From 1950 to 2007, probably about 10,000 photos: 175/year!!! Wow, really stepped it up without the cost of developing film.

i have a 500gb external full, a 1TB half way full, and have used three camera bodies in that time. an xti/50d/and 5d classic. i have only had the 5d for about a month now. But have taken about 3k pics on it so far. my 50d had about 15k, and my xti.. maybe 15k. but this is with weddings, family events, shooting my kiddos all the time, and other non profit events.

I just posted this in another thread, somewhere around 48,000 (don't remember the exact number) in less than a year on my 40D. I also have two 20D bodies that have, from me, well around 50,000 images each within less than a year.

So, count me in for about 150,000 images in less than a year on three bodies.

Now, you want to ask how many hard drives full of images I have??

I shot about 8000 shots in a bit more than 3 months on my 50D. Shuttercount sky-rocketed when I just had it, and the speed which made it rise lowered in time.

The most I ever shot was 6500 in three weeks. But then I was in Africa, so...

Holy crap. You do know that thing is only rated with an average shutter life of 50,000 shots, don't you? At that rate, it will be dead in 4 days.

You sure you didn't mess up the count by sticking an old card in it?

I don't think I've managed more than about 4,000 in a day, but that was shooting drag racing when explosions can be instantaneous so I use burst mode and fill the buffer on every burnout / pass.

Most full days shooting will vary from a few dozen, if shooting landscapes etc., to about 2,000 for events with action going on all day.

Anyway, to answer the original question regarding my current DSLRs:

20D: had it nearly five years, about 85,000 clicks
5D: had it nearly three years, about 50,000 clicks
40D: had it three weeks, about 200 clicks

So, around 135,000 clicks in 5 years giving an average of around 500 shots per week.

I think I am at around 100k with my 40D since I bought it in March 2007. My 20D had around the same number when I replaced it with my new 40D.

I just archived 100gb of race photos from 2007 & 2008 to DVD, it was around 35 total since all the photos where grouped by race.

Mine has gone to a lowly 17K now :) Sweet, despite all the pub gigs I have been taking, quite shockingly low

25k in the last year, probably closer to 30k though.
50/60 a day sounds about right
