OK, here's two samples from the recent trip! C&C appreciated. (BTW, these uploaded awfully large, but they were re-sized automatically during the upload....is smaller easier to manage?) Both were taken from our Falucca ride in Aswan.

Now here's the one needing help! I snapped this quickly as another Falucca sailed by. I LOVE the colors and her smile, but the ropes!!!!!! I can't change this on the programs I use on my Mac, is this too large a job for Photoshop to make the line appear to pass beHIND her head? Actually, his hand wasn't in the best spot either, but like I said, I really couldn't compose this shot in the time I had, you can see how I had to shoot it between the heads of other sailors. I haven't touched this at all other than resizing it.

I might go B&W on #1 and crop it differently. BTW how did you like Egypt????

I thought about B&W, as well as sepia and antiquing lol....I do like the B&W look tho.
Egypt was fantastic. Grand Circle kept us on the move and we saw a lot in a short time. I think our tour guide had a hard time understanding why I would leave the group in the middle of his talk while the afternoon sun was waning over the Avenue of the Sphinxes for example, but he eventually got the idea that I had a bit of my own agenda and wasn't trying to insult him. Just got back last night and am looking thru a few pics, but need to get out on the deck and just chill for a bit as well! I'll keep in touch and post when I can. You are going back in October? (BTW, the original of the Captain was a wider angle and didnt crop his head or chest at all, I just liked the close up look)
Took your B&W suggestion BTW and added a few to the Flickr site, thanks!

I'm leaving the end of October, and then going on to Jordan. I explained to the tour guide in advance that I'd been to Egypt before so he shouldn't be insulted to see me walk off in the middle of his talks. He understood.
Too bad about the Falucca shot and the rope in front of her face. Her nose is completely covered so unless you're an amazing artist, (I am not) it's not going to be easy to repair. The picture is Egypt though, friendly people always smiling and waving.I have similar shots of people in donkey carts, in boats, on the streets.
It takes me a good while to recover after these kind of trips too.
Post some more pictures when you're up to it.

Okay then, trying to sort thru some photos. Between deeming which are Flickr or POTN worthy, and just posting some fun pics to Shutterfly for the family, it's a daunting task!
Here's 2 more from our Felucca... I like the shot showing the other boats to the left, but is it just me that thinks the building on shore is too distracting at the bow of OUR boat? (I realize this should be a somewhat easy fix, but wanted other opinions).
Thanks again for all C&C!

I like the full face in colour. Perhaps not in sepia but more contrast in the B&W version.
Jordon, the garden of the Middle East. Nice landscapes.
Wish I was going back soon. The Middle East has some truly wonderful scenes both natural and man-made. The people as so different as well. For instance Egyptians look very different from Gulf Arabs.
The area has it troubles, but so has Ireland, Cuba, China and others too many to mention.
