Just had a strange thing happen with CyberSync. It started firing the studios by itself. And when I would release the shutter it would only fire the flash twice. Then I took battery out it would fire two more times.
I replaced the battery and seems to be working fine now.
Anyone else ever had this issue and does this sound like just a bad battery?
Only used a few times but have had over a year and the battery has been in unit the whole time. Should it last longer?
Ofter replacing I decided to remove battery when not in use. I do this with my flash meter and the first battery last about 20 years (not used for several years, until I switched from flim to DSLR).

I think you get 200hr of on time. After a year... yeah I would think you would have come close or past that amount.

I've not had the problem and still have the original batteries in both my transmitters. Admittedly they aren't getting a lot of use lately. Any chance something is hitting the test button regularly? I know on the receivers I glued a small rubber washer over the test button to prevent them from getting turned on regularly in storage.

If you keep your cybersyncs in your a camera bag there is a good chance that they are accidentally turned a lot. This would cause your battery to be worn down prematurely and hence the misfiring. (I had something similar happen about a week ago; Changed the battery and the way I store them and no more problems.)

The new versions of the CS's are less like this.
I have two new and two old and the new versions have a more flush button...

True. I have the newer models, and the buttons are almost completely flush with the housing. Even so, I store them in a small portable hard drive case to lessen the chance of them getting jostled around and accidentally turned on.

I decided to store transmitter with the battery removed to avoid any drain.
But has anyone had the misfire issue?
Is this a sign of low battery. After I put in new one it did not do it.
So hope that was it and nothing else is wrong.

I have had the same problem. Was bizarre, the strobe fired rapidly several times in a row so I changed the receiver for another at the time. I changed the batteries and all is well.
