After taking a few images yesterday evening I set my camera down for the remainder of the evening. About 10 hours later I tried to turn the camera on and it wouldn't work. I charged the battery-I had charged it about 5 days prior, replaced it in the body and the camera would not turn on. Cleaned contacts, installed new battery...no luck.

The camera is about 3 months old and I'd purchased the warranty simply because it is much beyond my FtB. The shop is returning the camera for repair at Canon but, has anyone else experienced any unusual events similar to this?

I've just gotten my camera back from the shop and it appears to be working fine. The entire power supply and related functions-seems like there should be a few; were replaced. I seem to have a serial number that skirts the horizontal line problem but since it is random...well, random means random. I hope with my s/n being nnn84nnnnnn the newest random problem is not a defective power supply.

However, love the camera.

I would return it immediately and get a G11;)
