I'm buried in a few thousand shots from this weekend's agility event, but since I've been chastised for not posting enough dog pics, I'll try to post a few on this thread. Here's the first I ran into that I really like:

200mm @ f2.0, ISO 3200, MkIIN:

Hi Dave,
Nice shot in some rough lighting, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more photos :) Is that a "mini"-aussie (red tri)?

I've been thinking about getting a 135 f2 for this winter's indoor season, while not the 200f2 I think it will help even with the limited reach.

Thanks for posting!
John

Thanks guys, I'll get some more posted as I continue this editing stuff :)

John, I never get these dogs right... I don't think that's a "miniature" aussie, looks full size to me? I'd vote for the 135/2.0 as well... I use it myself a fair bit with great results.

Bob, how did you know it was three days, I don't think I mentioned it, but yes it was.

Nice shot Dave! Thanks for posting that. .. looking foreward to more. (prod prod .. LOL)

Where did they hold the event? I guess I'm out of the dog event loop.. I never seem to hear about them until after the fact.

He/She just looks small:) Our Aussie is a 35lb male (which is small for an aussie) and we always get asked if he's a mini which I think are in the 20-30lb range.

I'd love to see some agility shots with the 135/2 if you have any.

Thanks
John

I will be honest, when I saw the first picture I thought " that was shot @ 200mm and f/2? There are only 2 lenses that I know of that can do that and this is not a photo I would expect from either one?"
The contrast seems a little low, from the ISO i presume.
However the other photos are amazing. the First one in the second set is my favorite. Perfect composition.

Thanks for the comment. That is from the 200/2.0 lens, and I only use it indoors, and generally at ISO 3200. So it could be I'm not getting everything I could out of the dynamic range possible with the lens. The light background in that, and many of the indoor shots, is sunlight from outside, filtered through a screen, and is many stops brighter than the foreground. So the camera has a real tough time dealing with it.

But personally I was very happy with that shot, that's why I posted it :)
