Best way of displaying on HDTV?

I want to display a slideshow on my 42" hdtv (1080)

What is the absolute best quality I can get? How do i do it?


Bluray?
HDMI?

I don't realy have an answer for you. However, I am working my way through the same issue. Just returned from a trip west and designing a slide show using pics. from my Canon 50D and some appropriate soundtracks. My goal is to be able to play the show on my 1080p TV so as to capture the high quality of the pics. So far I have learned that the only way to take full advantage of 1080p capability in terms of picture quality is via blu-ray. I am using Proshow Producer, which has the capability of producing my show in many formats, including blu-ray. I have a blu-ray player and am now researching blu-ray burners. Right now I have my show in DVD format and also in PC executable auto-run format. It looks very good and I can only imagine how it will look in blu-ray.

If you shoot in 1080p, I would assume you would want to do a HDMI connection w/ BluRay or feed directly from your laptop if it supports that function.

I have grown from DVD to APPLE TV (720p) and to BLU RAy. The later one will give you the best quality. I use Toast with my Mac

HDMI is a good choice as it can transfer and display 1080p resolution (and beyond). What is your source?

Another option - both the PlayStation 3 and the XBOX 360 will stream 1080p video over the network from a PC / Mac, or off of a local storage device like simple USB thumb drive.

Just make sure your gaming machine is connected to the TV using HDMI.
