I have owned my 50D for less than a week, and am very new to photography. I would really like you know what you think of these images- All comments, tips, tricks etc are welcomed! I posted these already in the photo sharing section, and figured I should move them over here to be critiqued.

All Images were shot in RAW, on manual mode, on a tripod, and processed through Lightroom. The only processing done was WB and noise reduction.

#6 has potential but I would crop it right to the rails

Thanks for your input. I think I also need to rotate the picture slightly to the right, as well.

What about the rest of the pictures?

I like 6 as well. I've had my 50d for a little less than a year and am, like you, just getting started in what I hope is serious photography. best wishes!

There is too much black space in the photos! I would try taking the shots when there is still a little available light in the sky. This will make the sky dark blue instead of black and lighten the buildings a bit too. Most good "night shots" are taken this way.

What lens do you used?

I use the kit lens that came with the camera, 28-135 3.5-5.6.

I would have been there earlier around dusk, but the fire only turns on for 15min at 9PM. I will have to try and go back sometime this week and get some pictures earlier in the evening.

Thanks for all the critiques!

I personally love dark images so im not going to agree with the earlier statement about going back earlier. But I would say its a great shame you trimmed the top off number 6.

I agree. Unfortunately, I was rushed by the amount of people there and I was wishing I had a wider lens. I beleive I took a shot that didnt cut off the top, but I didnt like it as well. I will have to go back through lightroom and take a look at it...

thanks for the comments!

I think so, much better IMO. If I was feeling frisky wih the editor I'd take out everything in the background, but thats going to be controversial I bet.
