I took this a while ago and didn't want to crop it to a square so I,ve added three shots trying to illustrate how insects might see the flower.

Any comments about the treatments or the overall image would be helpful.

I really NEED to see another thumb, or the 3 bigger, but I like what you've done! ;-)

Yes, I think the thumbs a little bigger would be good, but the effects work great!

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Thanks Frank,
Here you are, think this is better. Perhaps I went too far with the reduction.

I like the original thumb size, but the second thumb spacing.

:D Now the yellow one needs to go more to the right?
Maybe 4 smaller would be better, or maybe I should just shut up? ;):D

;) Frank, I'm so pleased that you've reached the same conclusion as I did before I posted the first one - boy this guy's clever!

You're only saying that 'cause I said "but I like what you've done!" ;-)

Decide to start again from scratch - I like the concept - I've had a go with some other images.

Anyhow, thanks everyone for your input.

Cheers

I think your star ranunculus is suffering from the competition of the toenails of opposite color.
How about making them smaller, darker and maybe a little desaturated as their blues steal the yellow's yellow. I do not know how you could make the star starrier. You've probably run an extra saturation layer and an unsharp mask. I think it is quite excellent as it is.
Ranunculus Ficaria is a species unknown to me. Where does it grow?
