I was asked by a friend of mine to do an outdoor family session. Here are some from the shoot - what do you think?

I agree with everyone I really like #3 and the last one. The only thing i saw on 3 is there's a stool it looks like under the chair and not being used. I'm not sure if that could be moved or not but it made me wonder :)
I also really like 4 a lot. Thats one for mom and dad to treasure. Would have been a cute one even without the parents in the background.

omg bsmall that is funny! I can see how it almost look like he is floating there! It's actually an old piano stool that adjusts up & down. Will have to see if I can change that.
Thanks so much everyone for all your comments! It's nerve-wracking to do a paid shoot! I can't wait to hear what the family thinks of them.

Not bad at a first go!!! All you need now is some lighting! :)

Really like the last one of the family walking away...real sense of solidarity and strength.

One thing which I think will improve all of these would be some fill flash to light up those eyes.

Watch the "hide the crotch" hands in the first shot. One way to mix up the hands is have all the people touch one another...one hand on shoulder, another hand on arm, etc. Helps to connect the individuals. Look at how nice that is in your 3rd image.
