These are some chance portraits of my daughter, and not really intended to be cutsey. Feedback on processing and technical merit is more than welcome!

Too much red and blue (purple?) in the face, and the lighting is from too low, which causes a ghoulish look. Her gaze is too direct and static.

The second picture has the same lighting problem, but I like the pose and the composition better than the first. She looks more animated and excited here.

These are really nice ... great poses ... great subject ... really well composed ... the light is nice and moody and natural ... I think this is great work!

Looks like you're using a reflector to get the lighting.
Red color cast in #1, you can desaturate a bit or add a bit of green

Two replies and two wholly opposed opinions. :D

First one makes me go back and look..second is just great the way it is....

THere could be just a tad of to much pink in the first...but her eyes are amazing and seems to balance it out?

Both are very well done, to my eye at least. I love the light in both; and I think the second image is a little stronger of an image.

It's very interesting that what Robert finds to be problematic lighting, I find to be dynamic and intriguing. Interesting how we often each have dramatically different ideas about what a given photo ought to be doing.
