I'm no web master at all and this is my first attempt to making a website. Please visit my site and let me know what you think. Any recommendations, additions or changes are greatly appreciated. Please post all positive and negative feedback. This is my first and only draft of the site, I have not made any changes as of yet.

I appreciate the feedback.

The header logo is hideous.

Lens flare is so 1990's Geocities. There really isn't much on the website to critique, I'm sorry.

Agreed the header is a bit:confused: and the site could do with a bit of smartening up.But i liked the image galleries with the smaller thumbnails on the left and the larger image on the right.

You have got to get it right for you though have a look on my site.I like the style of it and the way it is set out but others may hate it.:D

Yep, lose the lens flare. As it is right now it looks like 90% of every other Smugmug site.

Thank you. I hate being the only visually literate ass here

Great thanks for the information. I will look at making a different logo for my site. I'm still trying to learn CSS and I may just buckle down and have someone re-do my site as I dont feel to confident making it myself. As mentioned in OP this is my first attempt at making a website. Anything else to consider changing?

Its just a personal preference but I would like to see text on the home page that tells me something about the site or the photographer. If I land on the site and am not into the first picture, I'm probably gone before the second one appears. If there's text, I may hang in there a few seconds more to see what the site's about... and see the second pic which may be of more interest.

I'm still trying to learn CSS
If this is your first site, why CSS? CSS demands that you know HTML first, or at least be a good code monkey. Why not some simple thing like Dreamweaver first, or you can even build a site in Lightroom and Fireworks.

And wait, this ISN'T a smugmug?

yes this is a smugmug site. I'm trying to learn CSS because using their advanced website builder is pretty much all CSS for the most part.

Very ambitious of you. CSS rocks. Work on design, though.
