not sure what it is that separates this from a snapshot? not to sound rude, but the picture is not setup well and there is a distraction in the foreground, adn the use of flash is very apparant. cute girl though. sorry the picture doesnt seem too special too me.

i know smittymike wasn't trying to be rude...but he's basically saying it in an "untactful" way, hehe. but, it's true. it looks like a regular snapshot. your 20D can do *amazing* work, i've seen plenty! just get out and practice with natural lighting. don't use the flash that comes up on the camera. work on the composition of the photograph, the thing that's in the bottom left is very distracting. if it wasn't for that, you could have had a much nicer crop than the one i'm about to show you....
hope it helps some! she's adorable!! love her eyes.

It's a nice picture of your little girl: A good capture the moment snap.
Congrats on your purchase, you will have many many chances to improve and grow as a photographer. That's the beauty of digital! Composition, use of dof and lighting are things everyone needs to work on.

ok i just reread my post and i guess it does seem harsh. sorry. we all need to improve, that is why we are here. i wasnt saying the comments in harsh way, if we were face t0o face youd be less inclined to think that. its just that teh written word is open to interpretation.
what i meant to say was, the camera you have is very impressive. i am sure with soem practice you will be taking beautiful shots. keep posting and keep trying, its teh only way to improve. we all have a ton to learn, especially me. :) (is that better, lol)
