I shot this very traditional Vietnamese wedding last week that I have to share. It was very traditional from the sign in the front door all the way to the dress. Mr. Ming Hao (Houcous) was very generous and lent me one of his 1Ds IIs so I could test out my 85 1.2 in a fast pace environment instead of my normal use for slower portrait shoots. Again, all C&Cs are appreciated & welcomed.

Technical details for those who want to know.
All shot with a 16-35 & 85 lens on full frame (5D & 1DsII)
Most with flash whether bounced or straight on (outside)
I love bright colors, so all of these had a slight boost of Saturation in LR.

The 85L has magic I think, it made colors out of no where :)

looks good. i think what helped the colors also is the traditional viet dresses.

Yeah, their dresses were helping a lot, also red seems to be the dominant colors for Vietnamese & Chinese weddings.

yes red is. the old folks were pressuring my wife and i to use red as a theme for our wedding. we wanted blue and silver. it was seriously a big deal about the red. traditions are meant to be broken. i am vietnamese.

Great set. Some quick comments:

#2 DOF is a bit too shallow. Only the very front is in focus.

#6 plant in the foreground is a bit distracting.

#5 I dig

#8 I like also although I think it could use a bit more exposure.

I know what you meant, good thing our parents are very liberal. When I was married they let us do whatever we wanted, although they did request a few things for their friends. Not much red for our wedding, thank you very much :)

Thanks for the detailed comments.

I shot this wedding a bit differently with my 85 1.2, and that's why the shallow DoF.

You are right about #6 though, I wished I shot it differently. #8 I'll probably bring back the exposure a little when deliver the print. I always shoot a little on the bright side to be safe, and I do like my shots bright & clear :)
