Every year there's a car show in the very large parking lot at Orchard Beach in the Northeast Bronx. It's a very good show. Great photo ops. And if you get tired of shooting cars, there's the beach on Long Island Sound a short walk away with a long boardwalk.

Hmm...a meet 2 weeks in a row? I'm all for it, however not sure about my boss, especially when it means taking her means to get to a shopping mall, our SUV. Unlike MD-Rich-Jak, we don't have 5 cars.

Ahh, did Cal take a trip to the Canyon? Love it.
Yar, took some absurd amount of time to get there because tour buses think that we need to make a souvenir stop every thirty minutes. I thought it was nothing but BS so the tour company could make some money, but I've never really been on a long tour before and didn't know what to expect. We left at 7:00am and didn't get to the canyons until well after 2pm. And we only made two stops at the canyons, an hour at each stop.

So, another WELL attended meet this Sunday. A georgous day, many, varied shooting opps, from BIFs in the nearby sanctuary, to the sand dunes on the beach, to the lapping water of the Long Island Sound, to the boardwalk, and we get three people. Gotta love it. I know I do.

Yeah, I went 5 years ago. Was there for a week I think. Rented a car and drove everywhere. Stayed in Vegas 1 night, the rest was GC, Zion, Bryce, Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley. Monument Valley is surreal. Doesn't even feel like earth. Antelope Canyon is stunning.

I hope to go back there one day with my gear...all I had was a crappy P&S at that time.

ok..so today i learned that it's not wise to trust a nikon user to lead us through the forest. and..note to self..use a smaller aperture when shooting BIF!

Silly, it was a prop, balsa wood to be exact. I used my G10 with extension tube for those pics. :lol:

Hardly ever. I'm usually free. Nick is controlled by a very controlling and domineering woman (his wife) who kicks his arse and whips him too. He rarely gets the car to use. That's why he bummed a ride with Shomat, who is such a VIP, he's rarely in town.

There's one or two others that come at times, but they've got such ring around the buttocks from sitting on their fat duffs on their couch, they rarely get up.

Well, there are a couple things I can think of...

Yet another visit to the Bronx Zoo. Always a fun trip.
Yet another visit to either of the Botanic Gardens for some fall colors.
A walk around Central Park for some fall colors.
NYC Marathon in November.
A drive towards north by the Hudson for some fall colors.Any other ideas?

tbh, i am open for any of those - i did think about the first 3 though. I did not know about 4, and i don't have a car for 5.

i'd also take into consideration some walks through the city for people shots. but that's only if you're not shy to flash people.
