Rookie try at panning.

I went out to the highway today to try panning since there are no tracks to go to for me to try right now. I shot the first things to come my way and I know they are not racing cars. I shot the first 2 at 125tv and the last one at 80tv. Please don't laugh cause I did my best with what I had...hahahahahhaa Oh, I tried to remember to set everything right with the lens and wouldn't you know that I would forget one main thing...set AI Servo. :(

Pretty good imho. #1 is the sharpest. #3 is a little soft. Maybe try maintain a higher shutter speed, Tv.

I know what it was...I didn't have AI Servo going is why things didn't turn out better than it should have. :(

Love the first one. Not only is it the sharpest, I LMAO when it opened.
I would think that 1/200 would be the lower end for shutter speed. Keep it up.

I'm with Skip...no 1 was amusing and by far the best quality shot. For a first attempt I think you've done really well, I've never had a go at this so I have a lot of respect for anyone that gets it right!.....

Even if it is a big Tonka Truck :p

Those pans are pretty darn good to me. Better than I could do. I like your idea of going to the highway to practice. No waiting for subjects...

Thanks all...I think I will give it another try soon and try to remember to turn on AI Servo this time. It is so much to try to remember when trying to do panning for me.
