On average, I probably spend 1 to 2 hours on photography related activities. Between my full time job and my part time studying, I just can't put in more time on photography (i.e. reading and actully taking photos) than I would like to.

I am sure that there are people out there are just like me who can't spend more time because of their other obligations or responsibilities. On the other hand, I think there are people who spend a good portion of their day/week on photography (such as pro and retirees).

I would like to see what the distribution look like. I thought that would be intereting.

I probably shouldn't have ansered this poll because it could skew the data you're trying to generate. I spend far more than 50 hours per month, but I include my moderating duties as photographic activity. In truth, I probably spend less than half of that time in pursuit of my own photographic efforts.

I put in 36-40 but it is really more than that when you include PP reading the mags and reading this forum, actually taking pictures would be about 5-8 hours.

I put down 21-25, with estimated 5 hours per week doing it. Mostly the weekends, and shooting at the airport takes up a lot of time. I don't have time after work to do sunsets at the moment, as they happen only 30min after I get home.

Including time spent on POTN and FM, way more than 50 hours per month. I've spent 12 hours in the last 3 days, after work, processing wedding photos!

If I include post processing time, I'm easily over 50 hours a week. If I'm at home, chances are Photoshop is running on my PC and I'm working on some images. Every once in a while I'll take a break and check in here.

I ain't been spending any time actually taking photos as I don't want to use my old film EOS300 at the moment. However, I am spending many hours reading this forum and other websites in the anticipation of picking up a 20D. This alone reaches more than 50 hours. Heaven knows what it will be like when I actually buy the thing.

Gosh... it varies. I might take a couple of hundred photos on the average weekend..... maybe more. If I am shooting an event, I might take a few hundred more. Post processing time, POTN time and even some scrapbooking time every week....it adds up fast. I bet I spend 30+ hours/weekly on photography stuff. Would love more time but hey, I gotta work :)

Considering that I have to work for living, that I have other hobbies and that I have a wife (not necessarily in this order, of course), I just would say "too much". But I'll love every minute ! :D

It looks like a lot of people from this forum spend over 50 hours a month in photography. That's more than what I would expect. Interesting....

At the moment, not much at all, trying to get things done around the house, building a waterfall, and pouring a patio, keeping the grass green etc....But I will get back to it in 2 weeks. When i am shooting, it probably consumes about 6-8 hrs a week, my biggest problem is I can't sit in front of the computer too long else my back starts killing me lol, but I would spend more being out taking pics if I could, damn job whos idea was that anyway???............Joe

I reckon I hit 1.5-2 hours a day average.
Some days I do none, but some days I will do 4 hours+

So 50 or more for me

i'm the only one with 50 hours or more?!?! ahaha
i ALWAYS have my camera on me, my mates get pissed off because i take photos rather than talk.
no matter if i'm in the supermarket, car park, footy, cruise, beach, city, at a mates house, in my room, anywhere.. i don't think i can go more than 4 hours without photographing something or someone.
i've got over 5gig of photos on my computer, :P
then again.. maybe i've got socialising issues :P~ haha
and to make things worse, i just found out my camera has upto 15 second long shutter, so night time can't stop me now. all of tonight i've been experiementing with the stars and with the streetlights, and planes going over head etc etc

I think I spend more time here and post processing than I do actually taking pics. But it's just a wee bit too hot out lately to be in the sun.
