G2 flawed?

I had the chance of owning 2 G2 between returning the first one i bought for a higher price. i noticed a possible flaw.

this happened to the one i returned -

if you forget to open your lens cap the camera will not switch on... fair enough. If you then switch it to pictures review mode straight away it won't start... even with lens cap off. You have to switch it on again in the pictures taking mode with the cap off, let the lens come out as it should in a pictures taking mode, before you can switch to review the pictures in the review mode.

the second camera i got was "normal"

if you forget your lens cap... if you forget lens cap... it won't turn on. if you then try picture review mode straight away, it will work with the lens cap off (the lens pop out and then back in, and your review mode come on).

not sure if it's a flaw or a change of software/hardware?

see if yours does the same...

both cameras function well... just thought i'd share an interesting finding. :-)

Get a Lensmate. You will no longer get the lenscap on error if you use it. A Lensmate always allows the lens to extend. Since I always use the LCD I can see if I leave the lenscap on the end of the Lensmate.
