I think I'm finally getting the hang of my 1000D, heres a couple of pics I got a couple of days back that I quite like :)

And my first attempt at HDR, it looks better as a TIFF but 26meg is a bit much for imageshack LOL

Good sample shots.

I think you added too much clarity on the 3rd one, tho. Or maybe it's motion duplication. In any case, the clouds don't look right.

It was quite windy, the clouds moved between each shot and there was a little bit of a gap between the first shot and the rest :o

Do you know about the 1000D bracketing function? You should be able to shoot three shots off within a second or two using that setting.

What process did you use to make this HDR?

Pretty good shots. I like your muted colors.

The HDR shot is a problem. Apart from constituent image differences that show up in the cloud movements, you have software artifacts in the clouds on the top left and the blue part of the sky on the right. The monument is nicely exposed. A vertical composition seems more appropriate.

The reason for seeing the hard edges on the clouds is a combo of using too much highlight recovery, mixed with too much clarity adjusting.
