Not Bad but the apple in back is a tad OOF.
Need deeper DOF (More Light .. Smaller Aperture)

Just a few suggestions in my opinion. One of them is upside down, not sure if that was intentional. I would have used a different composition. Choose a natural background (wood, table cloth, bowl) rather than white ( which is grey here ) Use a sheer white curtain to shoot your strobe through to eliminate a hot spot and make it look like more natural light, place your strobe at a lower angle.
Just a few ideas.

Thanks for the comments. A different setting is the next level to consider.
There is no strobe, the light is outdoor through a white curtain, the camera is above apples by 2-3 feet, the apple in the back was intentionally OOF, the one upside down is more interesting feature wise that way (only had the 3 apples) and I really didn't spend much time placing the apples though I did attempt to make a statement. The backdrop is the white surface of my microwave and toned with a cooling filter which is slightly blue on my monitor.

here is another rendition though we can see the obvious flaws I have found a more ideal drop cloth that I am going to shoot this afternoon ... the goal was to add more dramatic character to the arrangement of apples ... comments on the color tone and arrangement of apples welcome as always.

Getting better. They still seem out of place though. I like the background you have going, but I just dont see three randomly spaced apples on a cloth like that. Keep the background, but put them in a brown fruit bowl or something. Make it look natural, like something you would see when you walk into a kitchen. Put them in an organic bowl get more apples stack them up shoot from a low angle with a shallow DOF. Make sure you keep that cloth you have there in view, its an excellent pallet.

I wasn't aiming for "classic" still life but that said I may well try your suggestions.

Using a bowl in the equation. A big step up compared to the first attempts. Problem is I don't have a real place to do this properly. I've hijacked my kitchen which was already serving as the oil painting station.
I have some more work to do with getting a good backdrop and proper focus. 85L 5DII

Today I mucked with the backdrop after several intermediate images and this is the result.
