When I travel on projects I take my PS with me and try to kill some time in the evenings... often going places I shouldn't but sometime a neat picture comes from it... This is from the old Tower that used to manage the crossing of two railroads - now abandon.

Nice shot. I like it and I think the B&W really works well for it. Are the rails still active?

Good shot. I like the way the window frames the tracks.

i could swear i rode past that place a few times, but alot of places look the same on the rails.

Very cool, I really like that shot. Very moody.

Very nice. The window frames the interchange beautifully. The use of B&W is especially nice because there's nothing in the photo to give away how long ago the picture was taken. It could be an old photo from the steam era.

This lines are very active - both NFS and CSX - trains pass here every few minutes in the mornings.

I am not an expert on the city - I was just there for meetings - but this is located off the main road that leaves downtown heading south across the bridge past the museums. There is a old closed elevated passenger station - and across from it an alley. You head down the alley to the end and it sits right there. This is right at the corner where both lines have bridges that cross the river. I will attach a shot of the exterior for ya to give you more visual help where to find this.

Thanks - Colombus seems to have a few more then a few old towers still standing... finding them was another thing. This is at a major crossing of the two mainlines though - so if you an the rails in Columbus - you most likely passed this spot.

I'd appreciate that. I know Columbus downtown has a bunch of railroads running through. I think I have an idea of where you took the picture, but I'm not completely sure.

Great shot. Well framed and captured.

love this picture. i think the only way to improve it would be to kick out the window so that the middle part of the frame disappeared, so i could see the intersecting tracks clearer. cool shot though. you sound like me. adventuring where is houldnt. i got chased off a farm last week by a guy with a shotgun. he realized what i was doing, apologized and invited me to stay. i politely declined.

did you get any at a lower perspective? that would have still given the framed effect, but allowed us to see the top of the tunnel. this is a really great shot even without the top of the tunnel.

No - I got what I could and then headed out of dodge before railroad police showed up. In my wonderings I found NFS to be totally anal, while CSX were cool as long as you don't do anything stupid ( like go into abandon railroad property). I have a couple others from this location though I will post. Hey - the hunt is most of the fun for me.... not the PS stuff. thanks for your comments though!

Sorry for the delay - I can't find the original but here is a b&w of the exterior of the same building.
