Something I found while surfing the internet. It's actually pretty informative and the shots are stellar!

haha awsome!

I was at the fair a while back and they had those motocross bikes (or whatever you call them) and I was sooo hoping that one would fly off so I could capture the picture!

I remember that usc game where the photographer gets mowed.

the bike shot where it screams superman! is my favorite. It leaves the mind aching to see if the guy landed safely.

Love the bird shaking its head--every other element in the photo is perfect too.

Oh, the memories of getting turned head over heels by a football player myself...that look on the photog's face was precious.

I have to wonder about the shot of the cannon firing. i don't know, but wouldn't that require a very fast shutter speed accomplished by using a very high ISO and wide open aperture? the whole shot looks fairly in focus, not like it would with an f2.8 focused on the barrel tip. I meanman that shell is moving and I would think it would require the fastest shutter speed available or it is going to look like it is three feet long and it doesn't!
It would probably be easier to capture after it slows down a bit, like right before it hits the ground, but I think I would rather try for the shot of it leaving the barrel. just my thoughts on that subject.
Seriously, does anyone with experience working with such fast objects and shutter speeds think that one might be a high speed video camera capture?

+1 for that bird shaking its head. that one might end up on my desktop.

If muzzle velocity was 2000 ft/sec, it only takes 1/2000 to capture something 1' long as apparently 2' long. So the shutter speed need not be astronomically fast. Fast rifle bullets are only about 3000 fps.

Photographer probably regretted having his hood reversed after that USC hit.

No, simply regretted toe'ing the sideline!

Wow. Same of those shots are quite impressive.

And as a motorcyclist, the second shot is a bit frightening.
