http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/7258/img0448rs.jpgthis is my second attempt at an actual picture. i would have liked it more if you could actualy see the end of the bridge and maybe more of an action of walking but besides that what could of been done to make it better? i wanted to make it B&W.

My recommendation is to go out and shoot 100 frames to the best of your ability, pick the best 5, and come back for critique.

Sorry, but your lighting is simply no good for this type of shot. Had it been... I don't know, a saxaphone player sitting under the street lamp, it probably would have worked. But a couple walking in the dark across a bridge is not portrayed well with this lighting. Trying going out right around sunset (or sunrise if you prefer) to do this sort of thing.

Rather than dismiss your shot entirely, here are a couple of ideas First, your subjects are soft. I dont know whether thats from motion, focus, or camera shake but you need them to be still and your camera ought to be a tripod. That would allow you to use a long enough exposure to get the lighting you want on the bridge and also use an aperture that gives you more depth of field. FInally, the color is bad. I'm not sure whether this was a sepia tint or your white balance was off, but it just doesnt work.
