Lots of news coverage on the big dust storm. Just curious if the fine particles are wreacking havoc with various (sealed or non-sealed) DSLRs down there??

Some Sydneysiders and Brisbanites (is that even right?) were out shooting it and a couple mentioned in the Aussie thread that there were a lot of DSLR owners out shooting. It was only dirt/dust. People who left their windows open overnight had lots of things in their houses covered in dirt but nothing that couldn't be cleaned off easily despite it being open to it for hours, so I doubt some time shooting outside would have done much!
I wish it came to Melbourne just so I could have had a go at shooting it :p

I was out shooting with my non-sealed 450D but I didn't dare to change lenses and let all that dust in.

I hadn't even thought of changing lenses . . . I've seen what micro-dust can do to electronic gear, but then I'm mostly refering to computers, etc . . .

I would think that changing a lens outdoors in a dust storm would pretty much insure that the inside of the camera will need a good cleaning at some point. :)
