Ok Despot, here are the mustangs.
The Burgundy one is almost exactly like the one my dad bought new. My sister still has it.
The GT350 is something I lusted after as a youngster.

Skip,

Nice shots, I love the old mustangs. I do have a question though. . . . what is VARA? I feel like I should know, but don't. :o

John, thanks for looking
More correctly it is V.A.R.A.
Vintage Auto Racing Association. These shots were at Buttonwillow Racetrack near Bakersfield, Ca.
I know that they are oddly cropped. I read the post by Kenny G regarding keeping to standard crops if possible. The backround at Buttonwillow is alkalai with sparse vegetation, fungus, god only knows what. Shooting under a brutally blazing son at mid day is like shooting against a whiteboard under arc lamps. I went for the narrow crops to avoid the massive blow outs that I found quite distracting.
Below are more VARA pix

Thanks Skip, duh. . . . like I said, I should have known that, or at least been able to figure it out. I appreciate the additional shots. Some I have seen before, others not. Glad you shared them.
