I took these pics with my old Canon Elan 7e (EOS 33) and Tamron 70-300 TeleMacro some time ago. I've since gotten rid of the two and have upgraded to a D-Rebel XT and Canon 100 f2.8 Macro. What do you think of these shots and do you think I'll get better captures with my new equiment? All comments are welcome.

Those are nice shots but dare I say you'll get even sharper with the 100mm macro (from what I hear about the lens). Ithink you've made I wise upgrade decision.

You'll like the 100mm macro a lot. BTW, I think the second butterfly is a Queen not a Monarch.

I think you are right. I was doubtful about it being a Monarch. Thanks.

Very pretty. The main advantage of digital is your ability to post process without the interposition of a film scanner.

Here's a butterfly taken with a 100mm f2.8 Macro. As you can see, it's safe to say that you will see a big improvement in quality.(20D used here)
