I work for the phone company and the other day we had to do a pole transfer to a new Electric pole. Well when I got up to the cable I saw this little guy on an arm attatched to the pole. Needless to say mama was not happy with me being up there. She kept "yellling" at me the whole time I was working. After I finished my work I grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots. I'm not any good at IDing birds, so if anyone can help feel free.

I don't know what is going to happen to the nest. The electric company still has to their work on the pole and it's thiers to remove. Hopefully the little guys will make it.

I hope they make it too, that chick looks very young. What is that on the parents head? Is it meant to be there? Nice photos.

Here is one more of where the nest was located.

BT, the thing on the head was part of the bird. I tried to figure it out but couldn't. I see you are in Ireland. I'd like to take a trip over there to see where my relatives are from. My Grandmother has the towns written down somewhere, so hopefully I'll be able to do that someday.

Cute! They look like Cassin's Kingbirds to me.. and they like to eat bees.

Zach, I am ashamed to say it, but I do not speak or read Irsih very well, have not used it since I left school about 18 years ago. I can't make out that phrase, I think the speeling is well out, if I heard it I might know.

Anyway, I hope you get to make the rip here, someone will figure it out!

Great pics, I love the DOF in the first one.

Is there not some sort of law which says they can't remove the nest until the chicks have fledged? In this country it's illegal to remove nest, eggs or chicks; for example if they decided to make a nest in a PostBox, which often happens, they have to mark it as out of use! :) Hope they're ok.
