Are Old Rebel XS lenses good now

I am buying a new Rebel XT camera and am wondering if the lenses I had from a Rebel XS 35mm camera are good with the new camera. The camera is about 6-7 years old. Is the EF series very new? How can I tell if my lens is EF?

It should say EF on the lens :)

My father's 35-105 from 1987 works on my Digital Rebel. Yours should be fine. Just don't force anything and you'll be ok!
