Hi all

New to the site so look forward to making lots of new contacts.

Does anyone know if the usual model release rules apply for weddings? Normally guests are happy for their image to be used following a wedding but I recently met a tricky so and so who wants to be difficult - it seems thay have had a row with the wedding couple and want to be a pain!

Many thanks

If you don't have the guests signature, they didn't sign a model release... if they didn't sign a model release, and don't want their photo used, then you can't use it...

And welcome to POTN ;)

It is probably easiest if you comply with their wishes, however annoying it may be. What is their specific problem? If it is that they don't want their picture to be used on your website then that is a fairly reasonable request.

Fortunately, so far for me, I have yet to come across this situation!

I have a passage in my contract that reads: "All persons attending the wedding agree to their pictures being taken and used within the terms of the contract." While this may not be legally binding or enforceable it may give a little more scope to argue with.
