Hi everyone, was wondering what you suggest for this photo to make it better? I thought cropping and contrast but this is the original file. Any help appreciated, thanks!! :)

I have Color Efex, its a program by NIK.it has 250 filters to use...I love it.
You should be able to do the same in PS or LR.its just playing with the levels on definitions.

I used a Levels Adjustment layer. One for the body of the car, & one for the background.

Thanks Frank. The car looks quite a bit darker, and I'm lost on what I like and don't like now... but I do like the way your edit looks!!

This is the closest I could come and it looks terrible compared to yours Frank. (using the gimp)

It's too bad you can't get rid of the marks on the front of the car.
but you probably won't need that detail when you put the pic on a box or something

and it looks terrible compared to yours Frank. (using the gimp) it's between mine & Flo's, & it looks OK. I think you need to crop to focus in on the car more, though.

Wow, all very different edits.
rw2, I like your edit because it's a bit lighter and it looks clear.
I don't get why Frank's looks so much clearer then mine? What am I doing that washes it out?
OMG maybe I should just give up on this picture, my eyes are starting to play tricks with me.

Is there a specific reason you are spending time on this shot?

Yeah I was going to submit to a local BMW paper. lol but they'll most likely look at it and move on within a second.

I don't know what they would look for. Does this scream BMW? What do the other photos in the mag look like compared to yours?

They are really high contrast and have fancy race BMW cars driving really close to eachother with really nice DOF and stuff like that........ if it wasn't for the BMW paper, I'd have more interesting photo's of this *turn* of other cars that have the front left tire lifting up etc. This is not one of my best shots, but the best shot of this car anyway. I have one from the front straightaway, but I thought this one was more interesting because you can see the curve of the track. I'll show you a couple of others and see what you think of those Flo.

to be honest, there's nothing particularly exciting about this picture. and what's a regular 3 coupe doing out on the track, it's not even an m3.

It's actually my boyfriend's car, and it's a 135i, with the twin turbo. But that's okay, I like it :)
