gold ring MRC... never fly among the Canon crowd...they need a RED ring so they know it has 'L build'!
..and then would you need to use a protective filter to protect the high cost gold ring MRC?! ;)

I know B+W is good, but c'mon, that's a pricey filter. So my F-pro MRCs aren't any good anymore? Not sure who they're trying to market here.

At that price, who could resist. I guess it might look good on the solid cold Contax I just saw on eBay...

That's clearly aimed at the "just give me the most expensive one they have" crowd.

Collector's items maybe? For the extreme B+W fan.

I'd buy it just to have them. I don't use UV filters, but if I did I would use those. Now if they can make the gold ones in a CPL I would buy those for sure.
Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

No thanks. I did get clipped about a year ago by B&H for a 77mm B+W Kaesemann (MRC) CPL filter that was close to this price. It will not happen again, my mistake...

They're kidding, right? Is any other B + W dealer selling this? I checked, and couldn't find it, except for resellers of Maxsavers product. I think it's a Chinese knockoff. I would reconsider buying anything at Maxsaver now, which has been my feeling since I began shopping for filters. Try 2filter.com or Adorama as two AD's for B + W.

I paid that for a Kaesemann CPL earlier this year. I admit it was 105 mm though.
I might actually buy one of these, if they could convince me that the box and gold ring helps me take better, sharper, clearer, photos.

Did you miss the information on the Schneider-Kreuznach website (http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/fotofilter/bw-filter-limited-edition-gold.htm)? It's real and it's only available in Asia. Maybe that's where their market research tells them the collectors are.

I stand corrected on availability elsehwere. However, if you dig deeper on that page, you see that Schneider sends you to two of its partners in Asia, neither of whom is Maxsaver. I still wonder about the knockoff nature of their product.

Misunderstanding. The quality of the CPL filter is tops. At the time, I paid a premium price for this filter to find one month later the price dropped significantly.

For that kind of money, I'd rather buy something from Singh Ray.
