Buying from Japan IVIS/Vixia HFS10

I have been looking at New Camcorders, since the great state of Alaska has blessed us Alaskans with a $1300 PFD this year.
I was interested in the Canon Vixia HFS10. Doing some research I have found I can save $300 or so by buying the Japan model IVIS HFS10.
Does anyone know if there is a major difference between the 2 ? other than having to take my shoes off before using the Japan model:p
