R300 printer problems?

I am looking at purchasing a new printer and I am leaning towards the r300. But I have read a few post of problems with smearing. IUs this a comon problem or isolated. Also anybody have any other recomendations for a printer. I am only an amatur photo guy that wants to print some photos. Would like to keep it under $200. Also considering a CIS for it. How about the Canon 4000, 5000 models.

Hi there, i have an Epson R200 and i can tell you now it's mint, i get photo's that are shop quality. The reason why i did'nt get the R300 was the fact that i've already got a card reader in my PC tower, that is the only difference between the 2, but thats up to you but i would'nt have anything else but Epson?
