Power Problem

"My G3 won't turn on. I had taken a few shots of the kids, worked fine, and turned it off to change the flashcard. I tried to turn it on, but it was a no-go. I tried changing batteries and even plugged in the charger cord. The flashing charging light didn't even come on. I've had the camera for about 5 weeks, and this is a serious setback for something that works...worked so well. Anybody have any similar problems and/or advise? ps I didn't drop or abuse the camera either."....

UPDATE: I should have noted that I tried closing the cf card door tightly (as mentioned in the manual). Anyway, situation is apparently over, after several hours. After opening and closing both battery and cf card doors, and removing and inserting both cf and battery several times each, the camera now powers up. Not convinced the doors are related to problem,however.

I found a small switch near my memory card just inside the battery door on my G7. It is broken. If you want to take a shot at it that may be your problem.
