Hi I have been using a Canon 400D for a while now, Still learning... My passion is Motocross and i spend most of my Sundays at the track, I take over 2000 pictures every week, all of them on AV setting. I have a 70-300 Sigma lens.
Being perfectly honest i have not much knowledge about settings hence the reason all taken on AV.

I get very frustrated as i think my camera or lens is just not fast enough for this type of sport, Can you please advise me on the best mid range camera and lens, or should i swap my lens or camera. Really appreciate your help on this.

I'm not sure if forum rules allow, if not please delete but my photo's can be seen here.

Motocross -- more properly, supercross -- with a 400d and a Canon 70-300mm IS USM lens:

The combination of the 400d and a 70-300mm IS USM is more than "fast enough" for this sport, and many other forms of motorsport, from MotoGP to IndyCar to NHRA to sprint cars to stock cars.

The main setting is to use continuous autofocus AI Servo. Because of the indoor stadium lighting, these images were taken with ISO 1600 and shutter priority 1/250/-1/320, but there's more to the art than camera settings. The trick is knowing where to look and how to track the racers as they move. Smoothly following the racers is the main skill to be developed, and much of that is learning to anticipate their moves.
