Can't find a resolution for this at adobe.com, but I dual boot Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 and I'm trying to get Elements 7 working on Windows 7. Camera RAW 5.5 won't work with Elements on Windows 7. I'm searching for previous versions of CR (Adobe doesn't host old versions apparently), but has any other Windows 7 user found a newer version than CR 4.5 that works in Windows 7 with Elements 7?

You do have the 64-bit version of ACR, yes?

Have no clue how to fix your issue, I haven't used Elements in years and 90% of my editing is on the Mac. I just checked my install of the master collection on my PC and it would appear I having updated Camera RAW in a good while . I still have 4.5 on my computer. If you think it will fix the problem (which I'm doubtful of) I can upload it someplace for you.

Unless I'm mistaken, there's only one version for download at Adobe and I'm assuming it's 32-bit.

4.5 actually works, because it comes with Elements. I just can't get 5.5 to work. I found 5.4 somewhere, so I'm going to try that.

Sounds like you aren't installing it correctly more than anything

I am, because it's as simple as copying the new 8BI file and replacing the old one in the Photoshop directory. It worked countless times before, but not with Windows 7. The file directory is the same and the 8BI is in the same place as it was in XP and Vista.

The only modicum of help I get from Adobe's site is to use a DNG converter and convert the RAW files if Camera Raw doesn't work.

Not a huge deal really, 4.5 still works at least.
