Hi All,
I'm new to photography and to this board. I'm a birder first but a very enthousiastis nature photographer second.
I sold my spotting scope  to purchase a Rebel XT and a 100-400IS lens. Although i miss my scope, this new toy is keeping me very thrilled to bring home pics of some fine birds and mamals!
I have had my equipmnt know for 1 month and learning every day...
Here's a couple of shots i realy enjoyed taking...

Nice work on the second one. The rebel xt is great camera isint it?? But i think the auto focus is not that good. My photos turns out better if i use manual. Anyway good photos!

Hi there,
I use "Easy Thumbnails" to resize my images. It's a shareware and is quite easy to use. See fookes.com.

Hi and thanks for the kind words. I have been doing mainly bird photography and using the center focus point only. Results have been good with this method.

I've had some problems with the RebelXT auto focus, especially if its set to 7 points auto focus. The images turns out to a bit soft for my liking especially at close ups. Maybe i'll try with the centre focus point only.

Two of the best bird pics I have ever seen. The composition on the egret is just wonderful. The mood captured for me is moody - I love that. And the timing on the duck is fabulous. Great work.

Hi,
Tks for the complements.
The first bird is indeed an Egret, a Snowy Egret. A rare visitor to Ottawa. Was nice to watch and photograph....
Gone by now....

Great shots Marc. Despite being so common Mallards can still offer some very nice photo ops.
