No, this thread is not about the update for Mac OS X. I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I'm dying to know who the photographer was whose photo Apple used.
I realize that it's likely severely post-processed, as that depth-of-field, color, and clarity is shockingly idyllic. Still, if that photo turns out to be legitimate, I'd love to see more work from the photographer. Anyone know anything? Is it just fake?

Tim Davis was the photographer. It was licensed from Corbis. At least according to http://www.pdnpulse.com/2009/09/tracking-the-mac-os-x-snow-leopard-photographer.html

I had been wondering the same thing, also wondering where it was taken (guessing it's captive, maybe from that place in the States that has a all the big cats on amassive reserve? Forget where it is now though).

Most likely either Triple D Game Farm near Kalispell, Montana, or Animals Of Montana.

Nobody else finds it amusing that Apple bought the photograph for their box art from a company owned by their largest competitor?
