View Full Version : 50 mm f/1.8 Metal Mount (Mk I?) For sale, sort of
Belmondo

Okay, gang, I'm not sure how to do this, but here goes.......
I have a good copy of the above referenced 50mm f/1.8 lens. I don't use it, and I'm prepared to sell it, but I want the money to go to the PayPal fund that has been set up to offset server costs.
If anyone's interested, chime in here, and we'll see what we can work out.
I don't really like auctions, but I guess that's what this is. I'll close this out at 12:00 Eastern Time (9:00 Pacific) Friday night.
[***EDIT***]
If I don't get at least $100 for the forum, I'll keep the thing and donate $100 to the forum myself.

I need a starter lens and that sounds good. So $100 here, and I'll add a bit for shipping which can be decided later.
Do you mind posting a pic and commenting on the condition of this lens?

It works as it should.
I will attempt to get some pictures up later today, but I have a very full morning already.

I agree, Tom, but that would involve getting the lens to Washington State, Boston, New York, or Montreal. (The only places you're going to find good moderators around here.)
Oh....I almost forgot.....
and Finland.:o :o

Here's a bid of $110 from Perth, anything to offset the server cost is good.

This is a picture of my 24-=70L taken with the 50mm lens. Please note: the lens is turned so that you can't see the Quantary filter on it.

Congratulations, JAZZ D.P.G.
You are the high bidder! (I learned that phrases on eBay.)
I'll send you a PM and we'll figure out how to handle the payment.
And thanks for eliminating the need for me to buy my own lens for $100.

Bummer, wish I had seen this earlier. $120 for that lens is a steal.

It's okay.....it generates money for the forum. I could have put the thing on eBay and gotten a lot more money, I'm sure, but I just wanted to keep the whole thing in-house. I'm glad it's ending up with a member---it's a good lens.

Make sure to insure the thing and track it USPS... The customs are bilingual, but they never speak your language for some reason.
But of course it's not my business anyways.

Officialese I can handle in both languages:lol: Friendly tips and hints are always welcome:)
Belmondo, I am very happy to help out the forum, but all I did was take advantage of an offer from the person who is really helping the forum. You donated the lens, and I picked it up for a good price. If not me, it would have been some one else. (In fact, I was surprised that I was not outbid:rolleyes: )
Lets not be fooling ourselves, this is all you.
Thanks and regards,

Lens arrived today:D :D :D :D :D (little issue with shipper and taxes due delayed it a day  )
Trials so far show this to be a really nice lens. I'll be working it better this weekend/next week.
Belmondo, thanks again:D :D :D

Finally got a chance to try this lens out:D :D :D :D
I know there is about 12 composition errors with this picture (roof line, light pole, etc) but I did not have access to the owner to reposition the car and other vehicles were in the way of repositioning myself.
but beyond that, look at the sharpness of this lens:D Treated in rawshooter only by making it "outdoor strong", treated in PS7 only to resize. Nothing else.
Thanks Tom, great lens.:D :D :D :D

Yup. That's how I remember it.
Glad it ended up in capable hands. Thanks for supporting the forum, too.
