Have not tried Pekka's actions on it yet.

Let's here what you think.

I would have posted in the gallery section, but since there is so much discussion about flash photo's and the d60....thought it would be better posted here.

Good Job Gen!
Lighting is perfect....nice mix of ambient and flash bounce.
Color balance is nice..warm....focal length is as wide as you'd like -to give immediacy -without fisheye. Excellent!

Try a linear conversion with AdobeRGB98 profile, low Noise Reduction and no post processing..then Pekka's LS action in HQ mode.. then zoom in to 200% on both images and be prepared to be impressed.

Hey Gen, I like it. I have a bunch of friends that love these old GT40's - mind if show them the photo? (Just thought I'd ask for permission instead of just grabbing & posting...)

Speaking of the GT40, yes, they will build THREE of them for the 100th celebration in 2003, and then full production in 2004.
Here are some shots of me in the "Workhorse #1", the first pre-production prototype (that they DRIVE, not just place on stage for photos).

I have to say I am more than a little jealous of that shot!

I have been fighting an ongoing battle to get decent exposures from my D60 / 550EX in indoor situations.

I have read up as much as I can find on the problems and tried to impliment the suggested solutions but still cannot get results anything like that.

Could I ask if you had any special flash settings you used for that shot? (any exposure compensation?)

Does the 380EX function differently to the 550EX? The 550EX and the D60 really do not seem that keen on working together and I cannot imagine getting a shot with such a perfect blend of amibent and flash lighting as you have captured using a D60 and 550EX.

Now my EOS3 and 550EX? Perfect every time

Nice shot, but DOF seems to be far too big for f3,5 ?
Can't see the fill in flash either ?
Just my thoughts.

This was the best of all the other shots I took at other manufacturers areas. I think Ford had better lighting in their section.

But, I am telling the truth here. I shot it in shutter priority mode and the 380EX only has one setting...auto.

I think the image still has exif data attached. I think it was a bunch of luck, the planets where aligned just right.

Here is the EXIF-data exported from your picture :

[snip]
File: CRW_0993.jpg
File size: 702KB
Camera Model: Canon EOS D60
Firmware: Adobe Photoshop 7.0
Date/Time: 2003.02.02 15:34:43
Shutter speed: 1/60 sec
Aperture: 3,5
Flash: Off
Metering mode: Multi-segment
Self-timer: 65 secs
ISO: 200
Focal length: 24,0mm
Image size: 1024 x 683
Orientation: 1
[snip]

So f3,5 it really was but no flash as I said.
DOF is still amazing according to the aperture..

Edit: Propably used USM ?

OK, what happened here, is the flash was not recycled and I took this shot without the flash. Hell, I did not even realize it, what luck. I guess I had enough coffee in me to keep from shaking....

Thanks for pointing that out. I had not noticed it.
