Is there going to be a 500 F4 Replacement soon? I am looking to buy one soon and i don't want it to be out dated soon after that.
thanks for the input guys.

Out-dated? Even if it's replaced, it's still a killer lens. Just as the old 500 f/4.5 is still a valid option for current photographers, so the 500 f/4 will be for future ones.
Unless there's a problem with the current lens/product (and believe me there isn't), don't worry about what's coming, and get what you can now.. you can always sell it later - Canon lenses keep their value well.

So, you don't think the value will down that much even if a new one comes out in a few months.

Heck no. The old 500 4.5 still sells for a good penny.

Take the plunge, you won't be disappointed. It may be years before it's replaced.

If you need it now then go for it. If you can wait there are signs that it will be updated within the next 6 months. It will definitely cost more but will probably weigh less with 6 stops of IS.
