Are there specific Lee or Rosco color gels that make certain skin types especially flattering? For example, pale white, brown, and black skin types for color portraits. And what about B&W portraits?

Gels on lights are generally used to match, or not match, the other light sources contributing to the image, often to make the lighting on the subject appear the same as, or different than, the background.

If you're just trying to make a certain subject appear a certain color, it's easier to do by adjusting color temp, tint, or individual channels with your RAW conversion software.
