Hej Pekka and all others.
First, thanks for this brilliant gallery. We really like it a lot, and have just put up our new home page, http://www.thuree.com, and are basing our photo part on EE 1.3
I am missing a few things in particular though.
1) Possible to add one or more categories to multiple photos in one go. Like multiple delete, but in this case select which photos, and then select the categories for the selection. Much quicker and easier than editing each photo individually.
2) Possible to search for a particular Category accross all exhibitions. For instance Choosing category "Jasmine" (our daughter) and exhibition "All" would give you all pictures in ALL exhibitions that have category "Jasmine"
3) A tool to assist in physically deleting unused photos from the web server. You can remove them from EE, but to find the 10 pictures which EE do not use from a 300 photos... Not to easy..
A list of unused file names and directories would be of great help.

Hi!
I agree with your comments.
Now I have about 550 images, but this is just the prototype. I expect eventually to have thousands of images.
EE is one of the few architectures around that can handle these volumes, because of its database engine, and it has the potential for extreme ease of use, but there are some problems as you have described.
At the moment the only way to have a global search / view is to have just one exhibition, but that creates other issues. For example whenever I add an image I get a view with 550 microthumbs, most of which are already in the exhibition...
Ability have searches that span multiple exhibitions would help! Maybe also the ability to have dropdowns for country / location / photographer and complex searches too...
Cheers

I'm adding batch editors (utility interface with photo lists and command lists) soon.

Power search is a feature that is on top of the wish list.

This feature will come "free" when size path ftp upload and resize is ready. Without ftp it is not possible as PHP does not have functions to list and manipulate external directories in any other way.

When you set search criteria (and category) and change exhibition, the search is done automatically. But multisearch is on top of todo list.

Yes, that is a problem. I've already fixed that in developement version. You can choose to see either all or just "not used" files.
